Black Cat
Arthur Song
In our modern day society, we enjoy the companionship of our pets and call them our family. While the truth is, pets are in an inferior position in the human world: they are dependant on their owners, have very little control of their own life. Every year about 200,000 dogs and cats are euthanized in Australia’s animal shelters and pounds for lack of good homes.
In “Black Cat”, I aim to portray an irresponsible, irritable young girl as the owner of a cat. She’s annoyed by her cat and made an easy but cruel decision for the cat’s fate. Life back to normal, isn’t it? While is there truly no consequences for her behaviour?
