The Passage
A prehistoric man paints animals onto the walls of a cave. His spirit awakens to a changed world when archaeologists enter the cave thousands of years later.
The film explores the human relationship to nature, art, and change, as well as our desire to reach across time and connect to who we were or who we will be. It's a reflective piece intended to encourage the viewer to consider these themes and what we may have lost or gained over the course of our existence.
'The Passage' is animated frame by frame in TV Paint with painterly backgrounds completed in Clip Studio Paint. I've been focusing on a lot of subtle character acting and animal movement, as well as bringing attention to the environment of the film and exploring some effects animation.
