Gazed

2D

A non narrative 2D animation with no dialogue, exploring the concept of male gaze in mainstream media (especially movies and shows that came out during the 2000s) and its relation to female empowerment through sexuality.

The film’s purpose is to remind the audience to rethink the media they consume, to question the female characters’ position in them and how it affects real life.

Although now in the west we have come so far on achieving gender equality, there are still a lot of underlying inequalities that some of us don’t even realise are there.

Our values are heavily influenced by the media we consume, especially those we grew up watching. Though a lot of people will educate themselves as they grow older, a lot of it can still be subtly ingrained in our minds.
