Gregorie & Mothman
A heart warming journey of a little girl, Gregorie, encountering Mothman and becoming friends.
Gregorie & Mothman is my little story about two misunderstood and lonely children finding pure friendship and understanding each other. The purpose of this story is to bring nostalgic and heart warming feelings into the viewers' hearts, as well as for people who can relate to these two characters to find hope in that there is always going to be someone who will understand you or accept you just the way you are.
The character Gregorie was actually created together with my highschool friends, back when I went to a short animation course in UAL. We named Gregorie after my red jacket that had "Gregory" written on it. For our little stop motion animation practice, we created a short story of Mothman saving Gregorie from some bullies. It was a silly but cute creation we made as highschoolers, but maybe the story behind the creation of these characters itself was a huge inspiration for me to create an innocent and nostalgic story of "Gregorie & Mothman".
I would love to further develop and use these characters in various short stories from now on as well. Thank you to my friends for creating this memory with me, and I miss you, Ren and Mira!
